Eoin is right, the little buggers waddle straight up to the feeding tubes, honking away.
And Muu, that Indian kid sounds quite tasty.Or GTFO. I'm glad the PETAfags haven't crawled their way here yet.

It's blatant that none of you have ever watched the geese lining up for feeding, they love it.
You need to look at the small farmers doing it, not necessarily the mass producers, intensive farming makes people queezy in general, saps.

Foie gras is magical and delicious and all things heavenly. How that comes from a pure evil method of raising the animal I do not know.

They key is getting a whole foie gras. Most places just serve foie gras pâté which is disgusting. But that probably helps keep it from being more popular.

Flavorwise it is the best food I have ever eaten, bar none.

Yes, I'm sure it's so divine. I had the pleasure of eating an Indian child who was force fed nothing but cream and honey-milk for a year. It was simply the most delicious thing ever! I think the feeding tube made him tender.

Yeah. Not so delicious when it's a human, ne?

limpingwolf:

indeed, the practice is cruel. But simply, you can't argue with taste. Foie gras is one of the most divine things I have ever had the pleasure of eating.

Too cool. The fish story blows me away. Do they they serve it or worship it? And foie gras should not be so popular. The thought of tortured ducks and geese? Not so cool.

Re: Foie Gras. Maybe it would change my mind trying it again, but as for my first time: disgusting. Maybe it looks too much like cat food for my tastes, but it just doesn't seem worth the animal cruelty (ha! *worth* animal cruelty, what a concept). Similarly, I would be profoundly unimpressed with a gold leaf turkey.

Otherwise: Saffron, real vanilla, kobe beef, white truffles, yes please! If I purchase a luxury food, I purchase it for the luxury flavor, not the status it might bestow. It's foolish to waste money- even if you have enough to do so.
