Before people write comments they should first: make sure they know what they’re talking about, perhaps research the subject and then pass comment. Some people just have plain shit for brains but think they know everything. My son got these at a toy store – triops, you can grow them, they feed by swimming upside-down gathering bits of food off the water surface and they live for 2-3 months. Perhaps you should order some and see for yourself! Furthermore, reading some of these comments, I once again realise as mentioned to a friend the other day: in the last 50 years more fucking dumb idiots have been born than what this planet needs, thats why its in the state its in.

How the FUCK could you possibly think this is a horseshoe crab? Without a doubt this is a triop. I used to keep these as pets, they were sold on the counter at KB Toys next to Sea Monkeys. I’m shocked at how fucking dumb you people are. Why would someone be motivated enough to post if they don’t even know what they’re talking about?

It’s a Triops. I used to live near the Missouri River and it’s full of them. They were only a few inches long. What was scarier were the foot long leeches I saw swimming alongside them in flooded areas.

that’s definitely not a horseshoe crab… but maybe some weird relative.
Horseshoe crabs have 2 distinct shell sections and a thin, smooth tail that’s not nearly this long.

Commentors 1 and 3 are correct. ill quote this “There has been an Internet story going around (http://englishrussia.com/?p=1633) that the Russians caught a “5 foot” Triops (which was called a “Russian Prehistoric Fish”)! This “fish” is clearly a tadpole shrimp and is likely Triops cancriformis. It turns out that whoever translated the original Russian description changed “5 foto” (mean 5 photographs) into “5 foot”! Tadpole shrimp rarely get more than 5 CENTIMETERS in length!”

To commenter’s 4-8 especially number 6:adam. No it isn’t a Horseshoe crab. Anyone with eye-site and the ability to get 2 brain cells to work together will note the specific differences between This a Triops to a horseshoe Crab. Please stop providing false information in an effort to try to make yourself feel superior to others.

Another note . No where does it say Alien Creature found..blah blah… The title Reads Alien LIKE creature. In English, the word like can be a noun, verb, adverb, adjective, preposition, particle, conjunction, hedge, interjection, and quotative. In this particular instant it is being used Note Similarities between 2 or more items.
And guess what This non alien creature does resemble the Face hugger from the movie Aliens. Hence Making the statement “alien like” very accurate.
